Jean M. Fogle

Jeanne Fogle, a graduate of Purdue University, is a freelance writer and photographer specializing in dogs and gardens. In 1979, Jean and her husband, Terry, moved to Virginia to start a tree nursery business. Fogle has always enjoyed photography, and when she switched to slide film, she began selling her photo essays to gardening magazines. When her oldest son left for college, she got a Jack Russell Terrier puppy and started photographing dogs and writing for dog magazines.

Her work has appeared in Browntrout, Willow Creek Press, Reiman Publications and Petprints calendars. Her articles have been in Woman's Day, Dog Fancy, Popular Dogs and other national magazines. Additionally, she is a member of Dog Writers Association of America and Garden Writers Association of America. Her first book, Salty Dogs (Wiley, 2009), is a photo book about dogs enjoying the beach. Tricks for Treats (Bowtie Press, 2010) is the author's second book.
